Cleveland Browns Rule Out Johnny Manziel for Week 17
The Johnny Manziel experiement has been an extremely short and unproductive one as he has officially been ruled out of the Week 17 game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Manziel exited Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers in the second quarter with a hamstring injury. According to coach, Mike Pettine, Manziel has been ruled out this week, and he noted that Manziel’s injury is a “several-week” injury for the young rookie.
Manziel’s first NFL season ends with him managing over his one and one-half game starts; 175 passing yards, two interceptions, a lost fumble and a 42.0 quarterback rating.
The Browns have activated quarterback Connor Shaw from the practice squad who will see time on the field should backup quarterback Brian Hoyer, who is nursing a sore shoulder, and is considered day-to-day, become unable to play.
