Fantasy Football: Fan Duel Bargains for Week 5
Buy Pittsburgh Steelers’ quarterback Ben Roethlisberger ($8,300). He and the team face the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 5 who have allowed 11 passing touchdowns over four weeks and an average of 344 passing yards each game to opposing quarterbacks.
If you want to splurge a bit more, buy Drew Brees, ($9,100) who plays awesome at home and faces the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Last time the Buccs were on the road, they let Matt Ryan pass for nearly 300 yards and three touchdowns.
Rashad Jennings, New York Giants ($7,200) is facing the Atlanta Falcons currently giving up the most yards, rushing touchdowns and fantasy points to opposing running backs. Jennings is a Fan Duel bargain ranked 14th in salary among the Week 5 running backs.
Ahmad Bradshaw ($6,600) who knew Bradshaw would be having such an amazing season. He’s currently the third-highest ranked running back, and is a a bargain at this price facing the Baltimore Ravens in Week 5. Look for another receiving touchdown from Bradshaw who has four already.
Want to splurge, then purchase Giovani Bernard ($8,800). He is poised to have a major day against the New England Patriots where the Kansas City Chiefs running backs did all kinds of damage last week. The Patriots rank fifth-worst at stopping the run.
Brandin Cooks of the New Orleans Saints ($6,400) should receive plenty of targets from Brees (mentioned above) with ample opportunity to score against Tampa Bay.
Golden Tate ($6,300) is a great bargain if fellow wide receiver Calvin Johnson hits the field not at 100 percent again. Last week, Johnson struggled and was used to attract attention while Matthew Stafford him up Tate. This could once again the case against Buffalo where Stafford will have to throw to thwart off the Bills’ tight ground defense.
In my opinion you must splurge on one Fan Duel stud wide receiver, and this week and most always, it’s Antonio Brown ($9,000) Brown paired up with Roethlisberger should have the Jags’ defense exhausted by the end of the day.
San Diego Chargers’ tight end, Antonio Gates ($5,700) is a great Fan Duel bargain this week against the New York Jets who’ve allowed three touchdowns to the position thus far. Rivers should toss the rock plenty since their ground game has gone to heck. If Eric Ebron scored last week against the Jets, Gates should have no problem.
Want to splurge a bit more, then Delanie Walker ($6,400) facing Cleveland is getting plenty of targets these days.
Or go for New York Giants’ Larry Donnell ($6,200), who has become Eli Manning’s new BFF and should continue to be a major threat near the redzone in a matchup with Atlanta.
If you have never played Fan Duel, you’ve got to give it a try. It’s daily fantasy football, so you just pick your team for one week using Fan Duel’s salary structure. No injuries or byes to worry about. There are even free leagues if you just want to experiment.
Good luck in your Week 5 Fantasy Football Fan Duel games.
