The Chicago Bears face the San Francisco 49ers Sunday night at Levi’s Stadium, and they could be facing the 49ers without wide receivers Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery, who both have been battling injuries all week.

Marshall missed practice for the third day in a row because of his ankle, and Jeffery due to a hamstring injury, was been limited when he returned to practice. Thus both receivers are listed on the teams’ injury report as questionable.

When it comes to Marshall’s outlook, coach Marc Trestman had this to comment, reported by NFL.com.

He just walked-through. At best, it was a light jog.

Jeffery reported that he “felt good”, but indicated that practice and the actual playing the game are different.

Trestman reported that the team would need to make some roster adjustments (ya think?) as their other wide receiver Josh Morgan is listed as doubtful. That leaves good old Santonio Holmes there holding the load if Marshall and Jeffery sit out, or even if they are limited. Down also are Matt Slauson and Roberta Garza, two of the Bears’ offensive lineman.

Fantasy Football hints:
1. If Marshall and Jefferey both sit out, the San Francisco 49ers Defense will have another grand fantasy day. Start them.
2. Pick up Santonio Holmes from the waivers if you are in a bind. He might be the only guy out there catching balls Sunday night.
3. Don’t start Jay Cutler.

It sounds like Jeffery has the better chance of playing, however we’ll have to monitor this situation to be sure. That bad news is the Bears play Sunday night, so you would have to make a swap likely earlier in the day if you own one of these guys. Let’s hope for some solid news, the earlier, the better.
