Jerry Jones and Cowboys Not Afraid to Give Richard Sherman Some Business
The Dallas Cowboys have a challenging Week 6 game in Seattle facing them, however, Jerry Jones is reporting they’re going to give cornerback Richard Sherman some business despite the fact.
While other teams opposing the Seattle Seahawks top corner Sherman avoid throwing his direction altogether, it doesn’t sound like that is the plan according to Jones.
In an interview with KRLD-FM (via NFL.com), Jones had this to say about their plans when it comes to facing Sherman in the offense..
With all of the respect we have for him, we’re going to have to give him some business over there or we will hurt the balance of what we can do relative to certainly the passing game. We can’t run from him. That’s easy to say and hard to do. We got to challenge him and make him at least cover us one-on-one and Dez (Bryant) of course is the guy who can do it. So I don’t see us compromising the rest of our offense by running from Sherman like that.
Furthermore, Dez Bryant, who will be the lucky one covered by Sherman weighed in..
It’s just mindset, you know. You have to go out there and play this game. No matter who it is, you have to go out there and play … At the same time, you’ve got to give him that respect, because you know there’s a reason we’re talking about him and you’ve got to prepare for players like that.
This will definitely be one of the more intense games to follow in Week 6. Fantasy owners starting Bryant should still go ahead and play Bryant in their lineups, however tame expectations just a little as he will be challenged to escape Sherman’s presence. Keep in mind, DeSean Jackson slipped through Sherman’s grasps in Monday Night Football and landed a sweet touchdown, so Bryant could find that space too.
