Marshawn Lynch Could Face a Fine for Wearing “Beast Mode” Hat

Seattle Seahawks’ running back Marshawn Lynch showed up at yesterday’s Media Day. He spent the required amount of time answering questions using his “I’m just here so I won’t get fined” 29 times to cover his speaking obligation.

However, Lynch may still face an NFL fine for wearing a hat with his “Beast Mode” logo which may not be deemed permissible to wear at a televised NFL event.

It is reported that the if the NFL finds that Lynch took advantage of Media Day and wore the hat “to promote a brand that was not approved by the league” he could be fined.

The league makes it clear that players are not to wear brands that present a conflict of interest with league partners to any field game, postgame interview and even Media Day where there are cameras on the players.

As for Lynch’s “I’m just here so I won’t get fined” canned response, it would appear the NFL could negate his efforts in obeying the rules if they do decide to fine Lynch for wearing unauthorized apparel.
