On Friday the Patriots added blocking specialist, Ben Harstock, then followed up be signing Steve Maneri and Terrence Miller, as reported by ESPN.com’s Field Yates.
Harstock, when with the Carolina Panthers only caught two passes in 43 games over three seasons. He’ll be more ideally utilized in blocking when using two-tight end sets with Gronkowski. Maneri has 23 games under his belt in his combined time with the Chiefs and the Bears and is primarily a blocking specialist. Miller comes from the University of Arizona after filling Gronkowski’s shoes from 2009-2013.
Of the three tight ends, Harstock is most likely to make the cut to the 53-man roster, to work in two tight ends sets alongside Gronkowski.
