San Francisco 49ers’ TE Derek Carrier Prepared to Start
San Francisco 49ers’ tight end, Vernon Davis’ left ankle is hobbling him, and Vance McDonald has a bum right knee. So, third-string tight end, and former basketball player Derek Carrier is prepared to start if called upon.

Carrier had this to say comment via ESPN.com if has to start on Sunday..
I just try to focus on what I need to do individually to help the team the most. That’s just go out there and execute and do my job.
Carrier was called into the game after both Davis and McDonald exited with injures, catching three passes for a total of 41 yards, including a long 22-yard pass. These were his first career catches since starting with the NFL in 2012.
49ers’ quarterback, Colin Kaepernick had this to comment on Carrier..
He plays fearless. He goes out, he’s going to give you everything he has, and he’s willing to go and make a play. I think he showed that on Sunday.
The 49ers travel to Arizona to face the Cardinals this Sunday in Week 3. If you’re in a pinch for a fantasy tight end, and Davis doesn’t play, Carrier could suffice a lower tier TE2 this week.
