See Why Ben Tate Could Start Sunday for the Vikings
It sure didn’t take long after being waived by the Cleveland Browns for running back Ben Tate to get swooped up the Minnesota Vikings, possibly starting for the team this Sunday against the Green Bay Packers.

With running back Matt Asiata dealing with a concussion and Jerick McKinnon working his way through a back injury, both back missed practice Wednesday possibly leaving the door open for Tate to potential start Sunday versus the Green Bay Packers. If you need an RB flex position, Tate has been spotted on may waiver wires due to being release by the Browns.
The Packers rank among the middle of the pack in stopping the rush, allowing an average of 4.3 yards per carry. That said, Tate is certainly no Adrian Petersen, so if you do choose to pick him up and start him don’t expect a purple uniform to suddenly transform Tate ito a super-back.
Obviously monitor the status of McKinnon and Asiata and if they play, Tate once again could be in for that nightmare three-headed back situation for which he just was dismissed.
